(FTV News reported by Qiu Junchao in Miaoli)

Acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine is not just a human privilege. In Miaoli, there is a veterinarian with over 30 years of experience who uses acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to treat sick pets. The conditions of the animals treated have shown significant improvement, leading many pet owners to travel from afar with their paralyzed cats and dogs seeking treatment.

A Persian cat lying on the hospital bed was paralyzed due to a spinal issue since birth. Its owner came all the way from Taipei for treatment. After examination, the veterinarian inserted four needles into its spine and legs, followed by 15 minutes of electro-acupuncture, enabling the cat to take five or six steps.

Another case is a large Chihuahua named Mao Mao, who suffered from arthritis due to old age and had difficulty walking. Its owner brought it specifically for acupuncture treatment. Seeing Mao Mao walk more smoothly, the owner was delighted.

In addition to acupuncture, Dr. Chen also uses traditional Chinese herbal medicine as an alternative to Western medicine. He explains that animals, much like humans, not only focus on blood and Qi circulation but also have a digestive system similar to humans. Many diseases that cannot be cured by Western medicine have shown significant effects through the gentle approach of Chinese medicine.
