Israeli scientists have discovered that for those looking to control their weight, the timing of meals is more important than what they eat. Experimental results show that "eating fixed amounts at fixed times" is the most effective for weight loss, while "eating fixed amounts at irregular times" yields the poorest results.

Israeli scientists Froy, Maida, Sherman, and graduate student Genser, in collaboration with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Institute of Biochemistry, Food Science, and Nutrition, released a study indicating that meal timing is more crucial than food choices for weight control. They also noted that a carefully designed high-fat diet can help reduce body weight.

During the 18-week experiment, the research team provided one group of mice with high-fat meals at fixed times and quantities daily. The other three groups were given low-fat meals at fixed times and quantities, low-fat meals at irregular times, and high-fat meals at irregular times, respectively. All groups consumed the same number of calories.

All four groups of mice gained weight during the experiment, with the group fed high-fat meals at irregular times becoming the heaviest. Meanwhile, the group fed high-fat meals at fixed times ended up as the lightest among the four.
