German medical scientists recently reported that through a large-scale clinical trial involving 500,000 participants, they have once again proven the efficacy of acupuncture therapy. This conclusion is expected to pave the way for acupuncture to be included in Germany's healthcare insurance system.

According to a report by the German magazine "Focus," Stefan Willich, a medical scientist from Berlin, confirmed to the magazine that in what is possibly the largest global trial on natural therapies to date, they have verified the effectiveness of acupuncture. In the study, 50% of patients suffering from migraines experienced symptom relief after undergoing acupuncture therapy. Additionally, many patients with back pain or knee pain also reported varying degrees of improvement after receiving acupuncture treatment.

It is reported that some German health insurance companies currently do not recognize acupuncture therapy and do not reimburse patients for related expenses. Some institutions have even called for acupuncture to be explicitly excluded from the list of treatments covered by health insurance. In response, the Munich Research Center for Natural Therapies and the Institute for Social Medicine at Charité Hospital in Berlin, among other institutions, were commissioned to validate the efficacy of acupuncture. Following the release of the study's findings, several German health insurance companies have indicated that they will begin to recognize and accept acupuncture therapy.
