Want to live forever? Reincarnate as a jellyfish in your next life!
Scientists say that a type of jellyfish originally found in tropical regions, with a body diameter of only four to five millimeters, known as the Turritopsis dohrnii, can regenerate its body cells, maintaining eternal youth.
The Turritopsis dohrnii does not need to mate; it reproduces asexually.
While most jellyfish die after reproduction, the Turritopsis dohrnii reverts to its juvenile form after reaching adulthood and reproducing, then continues to grow. Because this cycle of adulthood and rejuvenation continues indefinitely, the Turritopsis dohrnii is currently the only known organism in the world that can break the cycle of life and death, achieving immortality. Of course, if it doesn't achieve this state and is accidentally caught by humans to become jellyfish salad, then it would be doomed for eternity.
