Chen Qingyuan (Director of the Heart Center at Min-Sheng Hospital) explained that angina pectoris is not typically "painful" in the traditional sense. Instead, it feels like the chest is being tightly bound or constricted, making it difficult to breathe, as if a heavy stone is pressing down on it. However, patients often cannot pinpoint the exact location of the chest tightness. This sensation usually lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes, indicating that it is a phenomenon caused by the transmission of internal organ signals. Some individuals may even experience symptoms such as jaw pain or toothache during an episode.

There are also certain factors that can exacerbate angina, such as sudden drops in temperature, cold weather, physical exertion, or after a heavy meal. For patients already undergoing treatment for coronary artery disease, it is advisable to cease activity or use sublingual tablets to alleviate discomfort. In severe cases, seeking medical attention is essential. (Compiled by Zhang Ruishan)
