Eating tomatoes has many benefits, and they can even alleviate menopausal symptoms in women. A recent Japanese study found that drinking tomato juice daily can reduce menopausal symptoms such as anxiety, hot flashes, and irritability by half. Additionally, it increases calorie burning during sleep and lowers cholesterol and blood lipid levels.
Domestic doctors speculate that tomatoes contain plant hormones structurally similar to female hormones, which help improve menopausal symptoms. They recommend that women over 45 increase their intake of fruits and vegetables. Many other vegetables and fruits, such as eggplants, also contain similar components.
