Sleep experts suggest that for the sake of health and harmonious relationships, couples should ideally sleep in separate beds.

Research has found that sharing a bed increases the likelihood of sleep disturbances by 50%. A British sleep expert noted that during the Victorian era, it was common for couples to sleep separately. In fact, during ancient Roman times, double beds were used for intimacy rather than sleep, and the concept of sharing a pillow is a product of the Industrial Revolution. After industrialization, as populations concentrated in cities and living spaces became increasingly cramped, couples were forced to share a bed.

Experts recommend that couples adjust their habits based on their individual needs. If both partners sleep well together, there's no need for change. However, if sharing a bed with another person affects sleep quality, it’s important to make the necessary adjustments.
