It's confirmed that health insurance premiums will increase. As early as next spring, the premium rate will rise from the current 4.55% to 5.13%. For an office worker with a monthly salary of NT$42,000, their monthly health insurance premium will go from NT$573 to NT$646—an increase of NT$73. However, for high-level executives earning NT$150,000 per month, the burden will be even heavier. Their monthly health insurance premium will be NT$2,027, which is NT$229 more than the current amount. Health Minister Yang Chih-liang stated that if health insurance premiums don't rise by next spring, the system will collapse. It seems everyone must now mentally prepare for this inevitable increase.
