A study from Australia indicates that people who frequently skip breakfast are more prone to diabetes and heart disease. Additionally, those who consistently start their day on an empty stomach tend to accumulate excess fat in the abdomen, leading to higher cholesterol levels.

Conducted by a research team from the University of Tasmania, the study tracked over 2,000 children aged 9 to 15 starting in 1985, following them into adulthood. Over the 20-year survey, it was found that individuals who skipped breakfast during childhood or adulthood had an average waistline two inches larger than others, along with higher insulin and cholesterol levels, increasing their risk of diabetes and heart disease.

Modern lifestyles often involve late nights and late mornings, leading many to combine breakfast and lunch into one meal. Some even believe that skipping a meal will help them lose weight, deliberately avoiding breakfast. However, Dr. Kylie J. Smith from the University of Tasmania pointed out that skipping breakfast, whether in childhood or adulthood, has been linked to higher cholesterol and fat levels. These individuals also tend to have poor dietary habits, resulting in lower energy levels and work efficiency compared to others.
