Recently, two sudden deaths occurred in Keelung after individuals received injections. The victims were a 29-year-old man and a 48-year-old man who visited nearby clinics for treatment—one for a cold and the other for back pain. However, during the injections, both began experiencing discomfort and later collapsed and died at home. Yesterday, their families jointly filed a complaint with the health department, demanding an investigation into the medication practices of local doctors.
Holding his son’s death certificate, Mr. Huang angrily accused the clinic of negligence. His 29-year-old son, who had no prior medical history and was in good health, went to a nearby clinic for a minor cold. Midway through the injection, he suddenly broke out in a cold sweat and later died unexpectedly. The family was devastated and demanded answers, leading them to file a complaint with the Keelung Health Bureau on the 20th.
Earlier this month, another incident involved a 48-year-old man who received an anti-inflammatory injection for back pain at a different clinic. Similarly, he began feeling unwell before the injection was completed. Both clinics denied any malpractice, stating the medications used had been administered to the patients before without issue. However, the families remain skeptical and are urging the health department to investigate and regulate medication procedures in local clinics.
