Mainland Center/Comprehensive Report

A rare case of liver cancer has emerged in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. A 5-year-old girl who loved eating instant noodles, ham, and cola from a young age often consumed these foods as her main meals. Later, she was hospitalized due to discomfort, and tests revealed she was already in the final stages of liver cancer. Despite six months of treatment, she unfortunately passed away.

According to a report by the *Chengdu Evening News*, Duan Ping, director of the oncology department at a hospital in Chengdu, Sichuan, stated that the trend of liver cancer affecting younger individuals has become increasingly evident in recent years. The youngest case was that of the 5-year-old girl, who had no family history of liver cancer. However, she frequently ate instant noodles, ham, and cola as her staple foods. When she fell ill and was sent to the hospital for examination, she was already in the late stages of liver cancer. After six months of hospitalization, she tragically succumbed to the disease.

Duan Ping explained that the liver is the most sensitive and fragile organ in the human body, requiring proper care to function healthily. Moreover, early-stage liver cancer typically shows no obvious symptoms, and by the time physical discomfort arises, one-third of cases are already in the advanced stage. Duan Ping advised the public to avoid unhealthy habits such as smoking, drinking, and staying up late. Even young people who feel in good health should undergo annual medical check-ups.
