The gutter oil scandal involving Qiang Guan had just subsided less than a month ago when another incident erupted: Ting Hsin Group's subsidiary, Cheng I Food Co., was found to have mixed feed-grade oil with lard for sale. Ting Hsin Group has been involved in three major scandals within a year, sparking public outrage. The Consumers' Foundation (CF) held a press conference today (9th), condemning Ting Hsin for being "utterly heinous" and urging consumers to boycott all products and services under the group as the sternest warning to the company.

Cheng I Food Co., a subsidiary of Ting Hsin Group, was discovered using feed-grade oil to adulterate edible lard. Affected products include "Wei Li Qing Xiang Oil," "Wei Li Fragrant Lard," and "Cheng I Fragrant Lard." This marks the third time Ting Hsin Group has been implicated in such scandals since last year's adulterated oil incident involving Tatung. The CF questioned how such a massive corporation could have such inadequate quality control, pointing out the company's lack of self-reflection as the reason for its repeated failures.

The CF stated that consumers have lost patience with the recurring oil scandals and no longer hold any expectations for the government's regulatory capabilities. Authorities should promptly disclose the list of downstream businesses affected by this feed oil incident, including distribution channels and product details. Otherwise, given Taiwanese dietary and cooking habits, businesses of all sizes across the country would inevitably suffer severe consequences.

Regarding Ting Hsin Group, the CF emphasized that the company can no longer feign ignorance or inaction. It must immediately conduct self-inspections of all its food ingredients and finished products, recalling any questionable items without delay. If Ting Hsin's own food products do not use its tainted oil but instead sell it to other downstream manufacturers—now confirmed to be unethical—the company's actions are truly reprehensible.

Until Ting Hsin can prove its products are safe, the CF urges consumers to boycott all its products and services as the harshest warning to the company.
