Ian Gemmons was a typical chauvinist who never did any housework. However, after receiving a kidney transplant from his wife, he suddenly transformed into a "househusband" who loves doing chores!

According to British media reports yesterday, Ian Gemmons, 51, is from Weston Village, Spalding, Lincolnshire, UK. He has been married to his wife Linda for 31 years, and they have two children. Several years ago, Ian was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome. While waiting in line for a kidney transplant, he underwent dialysis treatment.

Ian's condition worsened, and in October last year, doctors at Leicester General Hospital in the UK tested Ian's wife Linda and found that her kidney was a perfect match for Ian. The doctors immediately performed the kidney transplant, transferring one of Linda's kidneys to Ian.

However, what Ian received from Linda was clearly more than just a kidney. He was surprised to find that he had also "caught" Linda's personality traits, with his temper and hobbies becoming more and more like his wife's, turning him into a "househusband"! Before the kidney transplant, Ian, who loved playing rugby, was a chauvinist who hated cooking, gardening, and doing housework. But now, Ian seems like a different person, not only loving to do housework, cook, mow the lawn, but even enjoying bargain hunting at discount stores, all of which are Linda's favorite activities. Ian has even come to love walking the dog, whereas dogs were one of his most disliked animals before.

Ian told reporters, "It sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I believe that since receiving Linda's kidney, I have also inherited many of her personality traits."

However, many scientists are skeptical of the claim that organ transplant recipients inherit the donor's personality traits, even though the theory of "cellular memory" has become increasingly popular. According to this theory, living organ cells can "remember" the personality of their previous owner. (Source: Huaxia Times)
