According to foreign news reports, western Ukraine has recently experienced severe flooding due to heavy rains, resulting in 22 known deaths, 2 missing persons, and 40,000 households affected by the floods. Additionally, 34,000 acres of farmland have been submerged, and approximately 20,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes.

The Ukrainian government stated on the 28th that the country has been hit by a rare, century-level flood, which, in addition to causing casualties, has resulted in estimated property losses exceeding $297 million.

Ukraine has been experiencing continuous heavy rainfall for the past five days, causing the Prut and Dniester rivers in the west to swell. This has led to the deaths of 22 people, including 6 children, with 2 still missing. The floods have also caused power outages in over 300 towns and villages, and damaged more than 900 bridges and hundreds of kilometers of roads.
