Have you ever heard of abortion being used for cosmetic purposes? Humans go to extreme lengths to preserve their youth. According to a report by The Observer on the 18th, Ukrainian criminals are enticing pregnant women to undergo abortions and then selling the embryos to Russia to produce placental extracts for use in beauty products.
The report indicates that doctors at Ukrainian clinics are luring pregnant women to have abortions for approximately 5,600 Taiwanese dollars. These aborted fetuses are then illegally sold to beauty salons in Moscow through intermediaries or research centers for as much as 290,000 Taiwanese dollars each.
These beauty salons heavily promote the idea that embryonic cell therapy can delay aging, attracting many customers willing to pay for such treatments.
Police have stated that criminals are exploiting people's desire to retain their youth for illegal profit. They are also taking advantage of legal loopholes to conduct illegal trade in aborted fetuses, making it difficult to uncover and eradicate.
