An outrageous medical dispute occurred in Yunlin! A volunteer firefighter was injured in a traffic accident and taken to the hospital. His family accused the hospital of treating it as a minor contusion, prescribing only three painkillers. The next day, after returning home, the man suddenly collapsed. Surgery revealed a ruptured liver, and he later died from massive blood loss. The grieving family criticized the hospital’s emergency response as negligent, blaming it for the death, and threatened to protest outside the hospital for justice.

He was Lin Shuilong, a representative of Dongshi Township in Yunlin County and a volunteer firefighter for 22 years, known among colleagues and friends as diligent and responsible. However, just days ago, Lin was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident. His family further accused the hospital of failing to provide timely emergency care, delaying critical treatment.

Family of the deceased: "The patient was already in severe discomfort, and the family repeatedly asked the hospital to intervene. At the very least, they should have conducted a thorough examination."

The family stated that Lin was in excruciating abdominal pain, but the hospital dismissed it as normal post-accident pain, prescribing only three painkillers. Believing he would recover better at home, Lin decided to leave the hospital but collapsed immediately upon standing.

Family of the deceased: "He went into shock and fainted. Only then did the emergency room conduct further tests, discovering severe internal bleeding in the abdomen."

The hospital then realized the severity of the situation. Emergency scans revealed a ruptured liver, and due to excessive blood loss and plummeting blood pressure, surgery was delayed by two hours. Despite efforts, Lin could not be saved. However, the hospital denied any medical negligence.

Hospital staff: "It was a delayed liver rupture, occurring deep in the liver near major blood vessels."

Lin’s family expressed outrage, stating that the hospital was shirking responsibility despite the loss of life. They are considering organizing protests to demand justice.
