People who are taller than average also tend to earn more money. A recent study from Australia shows that someone who is 183 cm tall can earn about $1,000 more per year.
According to reports, the study was led by economist Andrew from the Australian National University, and the findings were published in the latest issue of the "Economic Record" journal.
Previous surveys in the U.S. and the U.K. on height and salary also indicated that taller individuals tend to earn more.
American writer Cohen noted that tall people often take on leadership roles from a young age due to their stature, with peers naturally looking up to them as older siblings. In the workplace, taller individuals unconsciously assume leadership positions.
Psychologists suggest that being tall boosts confidence, which in turn gives them an advantage in communication.
