According to a study published in the latest issue of the German journal "Dermatology Expert," people who consume large amounts of fruits and vegetables have significantly fewer wrinkles on their skin compared to the average person. Incorporating a substantial amount of tomatoes and red peppers into one's diet can also make the skin appear more youthful.

A report from Xinhua News Agency in Berlin on April 17 states that free radicals are the primary factors leading to premature skin aging and skin cancer. Antioxidants can prevent free radicals from damaging the skin, but the antioxidants produced by the human body are insufficient to counteract this damage. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement with vitamins A, C, D, E, and beta-carotene. Vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, red peppers, and kale contain high levels of antioxidants.

Research conducted by the Charité Hospital in Berlin found that individuals with high levels of antioxidants in their bodies appear younger because they have fewer wrinkles. Additionally, vegetarians have higher levels of antioxidants in their bodies compared to non-vegetarians.

However, researchers caution that consuming large amounts of supplements to excessively intake antioxidants is not only ineffective but may also accelerate the damage caused by free radicals to the skin. Therefore, people should focus on eating more fruits and vegetables and reduce their intake of supplements.
