According to the latest issue of *Next Magazine*, starting August 1, food products no longer require inspection certificates to be sold on shelves. While it appears the plasticizer crisis has passed, this is far from the truth. A reader tip revealed that many food products still leach plasticizers during production, yet the Department of Health (DOH) has done nothing about it. The magazine commissioned lab tests and found that 7 out of 13 commonly consumed retail products contained excessive levels of plasticizers. Among them, a toon sauce exceeded the limit by 600 times, and even GMP-certified pineapple cakes were contaminated.

Under DOH regulations, plasticizer content must not exceed 1 ppm. However, tests commissioned by *Next Magazine* showed shocking results. The "Health Toon Sauce" produced by Chengtai Company, known for its Xiluo soy sauce, contained DINP at an alarming 614.1 ppm. The "Jiufu Pineapple Cake" sold at RT-Mart also had levels as high as 14.1 ppm. Toon sauce is a common condiment for vegetarians, often replacing meat-based sauces like satay or minced pork sauce, and many monks consume it daily. One monk expressed shock, saying, "Doesn’t this mean we’re eating poison every day?"
