If global carbon emissions reach one trillion tons, the world will face a climate change crisis tipping point! Experts warn that one trillion tons of emissions will cause global temperatures to rise by 2 degrees, and humanity has already released nearly half a trillion tons of carbon!

Since the Industrial Revolution, humans have emitted half a trillion tons of carbon over 250 years. However, if this rate continues, the remaining half-trillion tons could be used up in less than 40 years, quickly leading to a global crisis.

Some scholars believe that to limit global warming to 2 degrees by 2050, only an additional 190 billion tons can be emitted. If emissions exceed 310 billion tons in the coming years, there is a 50% chance the Earth’s temperature will rise by more than 2 degrees.

Myles Allen, a climate change expert at the University of Oxford, stated: "To truly avoid a climate change crisis, we must cap total emissions, not just rely on reducing emission rates."

This research, published in the renowned journal *Nature*, clearly and precisely outlines the relationship between carbon emissions and global warming. Most scholars agree that this will help governments formulate more effective carbon reduction policies.

Scholars emphasize that reducing carbon emissions is not an overnight task but requires steady, step-by-step efforts. To achieve the goal of limiting global warming to 2 degrees, Allen noted that humanity must continue working to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Earlier, *The Guardian* published survey results showing that about 90% of climate change experts are deeply pessimistic about countries' carbon reduction policies and actions. They believe not only will the goal of limiting warming to 2 degrees fail, but temperatures could rise by 4-5 degrees by the end of the century.
