The BBC website reported today that a new study reveals a hospital cleaner contributes far more to society than a banker.

The research, conducted by the think tank New Economics Foundation, also found that for every £1 a hospital cleaner earns, they generate £10 in value. In contrast, bankers are responsible for draining wealth from the UK due to the global economic harm they cause.

The study concluded that for every £1 bankers earn, they destroy £7 in value. As for advertising executives, the research suggests they merely "create stress," with their work fostering dissatisfaction and misery while encouraging overconsumption.

The study also pointed out that tax accountants specialize in devising ways to reduce taxes owed to the government.

In contrast, childcare workers and waste recyclers create wealth for the nation through their work.

The New Economics Foundation employed a new method to evaluate the overall societal contributions of various jobs, incorporating for the first time assessments of their impact on communities and the environment.

Ellis Lawlor, a spokeswoman for the foundation, stated, "Pay levels often fail to reflect the true value created. As a society, we need a pay structure that rewards contributions to the collective good rather than selfish gains at the expense of society and the environment."

She explained that the study aims to advocate for a link between earnings and the value created for society, and a method to calculate this relationship has already been identified. (Translator: Yang Chaohuan, Central News Agency)
